Mount Abu is a beautiful hill station in Rajasthan, India. It is 187 km away from Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Mount Abu is more that just a summer retreat. It huddles among the rocks on a 1,220-m granite table mountain at the far southwestern end of the Aravalli hills. Mount Abu is built around a lake and is surrounded by forested hills. Mount Abu is home to a number of Jain temples. Mount Abu's stunning array of exquistie Dilwara Jain Temples, dating back 11th–13th centuries, make it a popular pilgrimage centre. It was once a part of the Chauhan kingdom of Rajasthan and served as a summer resort for the Rajput kings of the region. During the British rule in India, it was the favorite summer destination of the British, who came here to escape the dusty, dry heat of the plains particularly Rajasthan.
There are 330 million gods and goddesses of the Hindu pantheon used to visit this holy mountain. So Mount Abu was the home of many saints and sages in the old days. Mount Abu has been home to many sages and saints. Most famous of them was Sage Vashishtha who is believed to have created four Agnikula Rajput clans from a fire-pit by performing a 'yagna' or fire sacrifice, to protect the earth from the demons. There are various interesting treks and picnic spots close to Mount Abu and The natural and the man made beauty come together to make Mount Abu a place worth more than a visit.

What i can say more about Mount Abu? Just go there and visit it with your family, friends and relatives. I enjoyed very well with nature is there on the earth at Mount Abu.
